If your e-mail address is john@doe.com
  • E-mail Address: john@doe.com
  • Account Name / User Name: john.doe.com
  • Incoming Mail Server: mail.doe.com
  • Outoing Mail Server: mail.doe.com

Outlook Express Configuration
  • Open Outlook Express.
  • Click on Tools and select Accounts.




  • Click on Add and select Mail, which opens up the Internet Connection Wizard.




  • In the Display name field, type your name.
  • Click Next.




  • In the E-mail address field, type your email address, ie. username@yourdomain.com.
  • Click Next.




  • Click the down arrow on the My incoming mail server is a drop-down list and choose POP3.
  • In the Incoming mail server field, enter mail.yourdomain.com, where yourdomain.com is the part following the '@' sign in your email address.
  • In the Outgoing mail server field, enter mail.yourdomain.com.
    Note: If you are having problems with the outgoing mail server, use the one specified by your ISP as they may not allow the use of third-party outgoing mail servers.
  • Click Next.




  • In the Account name field, type username.yourdomain.com
  • In the Password field, type your password.
  • Check the box next to Remember password if you would like to have your password saved.
  • Click Next.




  • Click Finish.




  • You have successfully configured Outlook Express.

Netscape Communicator Configuration
  • Open Netscape.
  • Click on Edit and select Preferences.
  • From the Category list, click the plus sign next to Mail & Newsgroups.
  • Select Identity from the list.
  • In the Your name field, type your name.
  • In the E-mail address field, type your email address, ie. username@yourdomain.com.




  • From the Category list, click Mail Servers.
  • Click the Add button.
  • In the Server name field, enter mail.yourdomain.com, where yourdomain.com is the part following the '@' sign in your email address.
  • Select POP3 Server from the Server Type dropdown list.
  • In the User Name field, type username.yourdomain.com
  • Check the box next to Remember password if you would like to have your password saved.
  • Click OK




  • In the Outgoing mail (SMTP) server field, enter mail.yourdomain.com.
    Note: If you are having problems with the outgoing mail server, use the one specified by your ISP as they may not allow the use of third-party outgoing mail servers.
  • In the Outgoing mail User Name field, type username.yourdomain.com
  • Click OK.




  • You have successfully configured Netscape Communicator.
